Cisco Optical is developing subsystems for ultra high-speed optical networking applications in Cisco’s optical transmission and routing products. The current product portfolio includes advanced 40Gbps, 100Gbps and 400Gbps transponders for Metropolitan, Regional and Long Haul optical DWDM systems Job Description • Analysis & design of optical transponder modules containing high speed electronics, optics and micro controller • Understand and interpret system level requirements and translate them to circuit requirements • Make intelligent design trade-offs between power, performance, effort and costs. • Verify and debug designs CAD based and experimental in the Lab. • Interface with test, product and applications engineers for successful NPI. • Help Junior Designers in technical decision making and attacking new or difficult problems. Qualifications • Typically requires MSEE/CS or equivalent with 10+ years relevant experience in telecom electronics products and applications. • Very strong fundamentals in analog and digital electronic circuit design. • Strong hands-on experience in analog/mixed signal electronic design bring-up and debug. • Solid experience with standard electronics design/test tools (e.g. Pspice, programmable logic..). • Familiarity with Telecom specific SERDES designs at 10Gbps and beyond is a plus. • Experience in micro- controller programming is a plus Table.Right {float: Right;text-align: Right;border:0;padding:3px;} DIV.VEclearFloatAfterElement {clear:both;visibility:hidden;height:0px;} Cisco is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer Cisco is an E-Verify employer.
