The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will be a dynamic business partner and leader across the Carmax organization. (S)he will be responsible for directing the overall financial planning processes, including leading the forecast, annual plan, and the financial components of the long-range plan. This director will be proactive and provide actionable perspective on the opportunities and risks facing Carmax and not just a “rear view vision.”

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - Ten or more years of relevant finance experience, preferably including both corporate and operational finance experience - BA / BS in Finance or related degree - MBA / CPA a plus - Direct experience in enhancing or rolling out an enterprise financial planning tool - Excellent analytical, problem solving, and financial modeling skills - Excellent communication, partnering, presentation and influencing skills - Experience in multi-unit retail environment preferred - Ability to manage multi-project workload within tight deadlines through strong organizational and planning skills - Excellent computer skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Access
LANGUAGE SKILLS: - Ability to communicate in a clear and open manner through verbal, written, and non-verbal methods, to all levels of the organization - Ability to summarize or present complex and/or technical information into easy-to-understand pieces
