As a member of this team, you can help design, develop, test and document product security solutions for Cisco. We are focused on developing best-in-world product security technologies, tools and process and are leading the global Cisco Development Organization in the definition, deployment and implementation of the Cisco Secure Development Life cycle methodology. Our engineers work on product security solutions and technology that impacts embedded system network technology in voice, security, switching, routing, storage, wireless and network management systems. We help shape the security of products and solutions that affect home, business, education, and government networks. The ideal candidate should be a strong system engineer with the following hands-on skills and experience: - Expert in Routing (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) & Switching - Intermediate to expert knowledge in VPN & Security, Voice & Video, Wireless - Proficiency in Data Center, Virtualization and Linux - Experience in debugging network protocols and sessions (TCP/UDP, SIP, RTP, SSL, Web protocols, etc.) - Experienced scripter using Ruby, Python, or Perl - Ability, at a reading level, of high-level programing languages such as C, C++, Java - Creative problem-solving skills and excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills - Ability to handle complex projects and solve problems with solutions based on diverse procedures and precedents - Ability to work in a team environment - Ability to manage multiple tasks and work towards long-term goals - Flexibility and openness to change - Strong written and verbal communication skills The candidate must possess: a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering combined with 4+ years of relevant work experience; or suitable relevant training and experience. CCNP (or equivalent, ex. CCIE writing) required. CCIE/CCAr/CCDE preferred. Due to the type of work this position will perform and the government customers the role will work with, US Citizenship is required.
