Our software is lighting up Unified Communications(UC) and breaking new ground in the area of Virtualization. We are seeking an experienced test engineer for the Software Engineering Team within the Cisco Collaboration & Communications Group. The successful candidate will be part of the Agile Software Development team delivering Unified Communication applications for the Cisco solution. Primary responsibilities, skills and personal attributes of the successful candidate include: • Self-motivated, technologically flexible with a keen desire to learn • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, technically strong software development team • Strong teamwork and communication skills, both written and oral in a highly collaborative Agile environment. • Problem solving skills across multiple technologies with advanced analysis and troubleshooting skills. • End user representative testing of audio/video telephony based UC applications • Design innovative test cases for specified functionality to validate product and solution quality. • Detect software performance problems, report and work within Scrum team to provide a resolution. • Strong Linux / Windows OS knowledge • Test automation experience in some or all of C++/Java/JavaScript/Python. • Install and configure Cisco networking and Unified Communication products. • Reviewing customer facing product documentation/videos on demand. • Participate in initiatives to enhance existing organisational test processes. • Demonstrate practical application of these skills and personal attributes within previous work responsibilities Experience / certification in some of the following areas would be an advantage: • JavaScript, Selenium, HTML5 • Video technologies • Experience with TCP/IP based networking • Cisco Certification and product knowledge • Microsoft Certification and product knowledge • Skills in one or more of the following scripting languages: Perl, Python, Shell, Bash, Ruby, Tcl • Unified Communications protocols • Knowledge of Browser Plug-ins Education Requirements: B.Sc. / B.Eng / M.Sc / M.Eng or equivalents in the areas of Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Software Development, Computer Networking, Electronics or other equivalent disciplines with an emphasis on Software Design practices. Eligibility Requirements: • Legally entitled to live and work in European Union • Must be fluent in English Pre-requisite Job Experience: 3+ years’ experience in a development or test environment. Travel: Some international travel may be required.
