Responsibilities Database/Web - Maintain, update and add to the existing MI/IN/KY regional Engineering database that pulls data from user inputs, files and other databases. Maintain, update and add to push reporting and a Web based interface to view the data (contained in this database) in various formats. Current formats are emailed PDF files and Web views created by utilizing tools described under Qualifications. Maintain this reporting system by periodic monitoring and input from Manager and peers. Updates and additions are made from input by management and peers. Understand and implement proposed changes. Network - The following applies to Nortel/Ericsson CDMA 1X/EVDO and Ericsson LTE Architecture Base Station Manager (BSM) administration (Password, Cron jobs, UNIX VI editing, File management, Key code management, provide data to vendors) CDMA Database. Build and modify managed objects to support growth (sites/carriers/CEM configurations,T1’s). Good working knowledge of the CACP tool. Knowledge of site trunk adds related to the CBRS platform. Make parameter changes such as neighbor lists. EVDO. Familiar with logging into DOMs and understanding the settings and configurations. Utilize existing tools to create scripting used for making changes to these configurations and settings. Work with RF and Switch Operations groups to ensure proper implementation of scripting. Troubleshoot issues related to the scripting work. May require some on call and maintenance window hours. Work with the vendor towards resolutions on issues with vendors’ software functionality. Will work towards knowledge and abilities in scripting of EBH connectivity (vs T1) and LTE architecture, utilizing further custom scripting and the Ericsson OSS tool platform. Strong IP knowledge is a plus. Ability to use tools such as Perl to understand and modify existing script generating tools. Balance of work between each function (Web/Database and Network) will be determined by available work loads Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or other related degree. Master’s degree a plus. 2-5 years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications’ industry. Strong analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Highly self motivated Proficient in the following tools or related tools… Java, Oracle, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Perl, PL/SQL, BIRT, Google Web Toolkit (uses Java) Good understanding of the Ericsson CDMA system and it’s architecture for both 1X and EVDO. Familiar with and experience using Ericsson tools associated with viewing information and making system updates especially CACP. Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
