Works closely with the assigned management teams to provide strategic HR consultation to optimize people, structure, process and culture, with the goal of achieving business results. Single point contact for the assigned management team on HR issues. Manages the design and delivery of human resources solutions by partnering with internal HR resources. Responsible for providing general or specific human resources support and services. Investigates and helps to resolve employee relations issues and complaints. Works collaboratively with functional team members and helps to build strategy, improve organizational performance, and develop organizational capability. Develops and executes HRS priorities in direct alignment with business strategy and executes day-to-day HRS or Organizational Development responsibilities. Ensures Farmers policies and procedures are followed. Reviews current policies, practices and programs and recommends changes and/or updates to keep our competitive edge in employee retention and recruitment.



Analyzes organizational or client centered HR problems and recommends solutions based on expertise, knowledge and/or experience.

Provides operational and consultative support to business managers on a daily basis.

Investigates employee complaints about management practices; recommends corrective actions.Monitors worksites to maintain harassment free environments that encourage top performance.

Consults on disciplinary matters; reviews disciplinary documents for legal and policy compliance.

Makes recommendations to management on how to improve employee morale, performance and loyalty, resulting in improved employee survey results and retention of key talent.

Acts as a mentor and coach to other employees, including fellow HR team members.

Administers and explains respective assigned HR policies, programs, and procedures, and assures compliance. Recommends changes and addit6ions as needed to maintain a competitive edge in the quest for talent.
Promotes open communication within all levels of the organizaton to positively resolve employee relations problems, while promoting and maintaining the integrity of employees and the organization.

Facilitates the design and delivery of processes or deliverable products that enable the business to meet business objectives. Researches and submits cost benefit analysis and implementation plans for new programs.

Serves as a positive change agent to improve the company's competitive edge. Conducts ongoing needs analysis and designs, develops and/or facilitates appropriate training and development programs.

Partners with Home Office and Field Human Resources to ensure the attainment of long term HR goals. Promotes a learning environment.

Provides educational and developmental guidance to employees or refers to Career Partner Advisor.

Prepares HR reports and statistics; analyzes the data and recommends actions as indicated.

Handles unemployment insurance claims protests including representing the Company at hearings.

Assists in the preparation and maintenance of the departmental budget; reviews expenditures to ensure that most value is obtained from available funds.

Develops strong working relationships with other local employers and educational institutions.

Performs other functions as assigned.



* Willing to consider SG 33-35 depending on experience *

This position will consult with and support the Independent Agent Operations group, part of Distribution, which includes sales, marketing and support functions.
Strong base of general HR knowledge/experience: compensation, employee relations, employment law, performance management, talent retention and development. Strong influencing skills.



Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occassional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 15 lbs. maximum , bending, talking, hearing.



Required job duties are normally performed in a climate controlled office environment



BS/BA in Business Administration, Human Resources, Labor Relations or related field required; Master's Degree preferred; completion of SPHR certification, or other relevant designation (i.e. CCP, CEBS) dependent on division of HR.



6 years HR experience or 18 months as an HR- Advisor.
Knowledge and understanding of current human resources policies and practices; labor and fair employment practice laws related to assigned HR area. Competencies in the traditional human resources core skills areas as a generalist or specialized area. Experience in a fast response environment that is forward thinking with the ability to adapt to change. Knowledge of Training and Development practices (course design and development, facilitation) or succession planning/ talent management.
