Performs analysis using data manipulation and statistical methods to assess and enhance efforts that drive growth and profitability of our Commercial lines of business. Supports Product Managers in developing, implementing, and communicating product and pricing changes.
• Uses quantitative and statistical techniques to identify drivers of losses, growth and profitability. • Retrieves and manipulates data via SAS, SQL, or other analytical tools. • Assists Product Managers in preparing and implementing rate revisions and state filings. • Performs ad hoc investigations of product and pricing issues. • Assists Product Managers in developing product, pricing, and underwriting enhancements. • Develops and runs reports. • Collaborates with Product R&D, Field Sales, Underwriting, IT, and other groups. • Evaluates the impact of product, pricing, and process changes. • Represents the Product Manager in his/her absence. • Performs other duties as assigned.
• Able to create analyses and reports using Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint. • Able to write queries to pull, summarize, and analyze data using SAS or SQL. • Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. • Ability to communicate results and recommendations of analyses to a non-technical audience. • Insurance experience preferred. • Predictive modeling skills and VBA knowledge are beneficial but not required. • Candidate qualifications may be reviewed against the requirements for the associated levels of this position's core function.
Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking standing and lifting and/or carrying 10 lbs. maximum.
Required job duties are normally performed in a climate controlled office environment.
Four year college degree.
