WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION? Various duties depending on department Completes training on workstations and job/department specific applications Demonstrates ability to effectively analyze and execute professional level work in the assigned department Work on special projects as assigned by the supervisor Demonstrates an understanding of State Farm policies and procedures WHAT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION? Must be a college student Effective communication skills, both oral and written Ability to work in team environment ITEMS OF NOTE Position not eligible for merit increases or Performance Cash ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria: *College junior or senior by the Fall of 2012 *Graduating seniors and graduate degree students may also be considered *Minimum GPA of 3.0 *Successful completion of our pre-employment testing/screening process *Able to commit to a minimum of 12 weeks of full-time employment, Monday through Friday, beginning no later than June 18, 2012 *Travel of up to 30% is required Preferred Skills/Qualifications: *Ideal intern may already be studying in law school *Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office products *Bilingual in Spanish or Asian languages, specifically Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, and/or others which align with our business needs *Participation in extracurricular activities such as student organizations, community involvement, volunteer activities Current Openings: In addition to job duties in their assigned departments, College Interns will participate in a group project and a workshop to enhance their business acumen and presentation skills. This will involve overnight travel to offices within California. The office location of this internship is 2710 South Gateway Oaks, Suite 210 in Sacramento, CA. The intern's assignments include but are not limited to conducting legal research, drafting motions; preparing client's responses to discovery; summarize medical records, depositions; and draft status reports to claims and clients.
