Responsibilities The Manger in the Consumer Solutions team for Verizon Wireless Marketing will be responsible for Product Strategy and implementation of the Wi-Fi, Connected Devices and Sponsored data programs at Verizon Wireless. Primary responsibilities will be product management of the current and future programs and line of products and services. This includes strategic roadmap creation, competitive insights, reporting and analysis, portfolio management, lifecycle management and new product development. The product manager will be responsible for generating several major documents such as product briefs, competitive analysis, business/product/technical requirements, business case proposals, training documents, project schedules, product gate documents, etc. The Manager will own strategic roadmap creation, competitive insights, reporting and analysis, portfolio management, lifecycle management and new product development. Key projects for 2012 will include our WiFi strategy implementation, our launch of Sponsored data and Connected Devices programs Key Responsibilities; • Actively manage the on-time delivery of Programs across the organizations and external vendor(s) • Responsible for the overall experience including usability items, customer support issues, and product feature set • Project planning and scheduling to coordinate internal and external vendors • Tracking key milestones and deliverables • Manage post-launch issues and project expansions • Coordination of joint issue resolution • Work with vendor and Verizon Wireless internal organizations (e.g., marketing, legal, e-Commerce, work force development, store operations, B2B, customer service, network, IT) to implement the product/service • Define product, technical, and marketing requirements • In addition to developing the product, the product development manager will have to follow the project management office’s VZ launch process The Manager will be responsible for clearly communicating the product to our leadership, the customer and the field. Not only for product launches, but also on a regular basis. • Facilitate productive cross-portfolio and cross-functional relationships via effective and consistent communication • Work closely with the Field teams to communicate product enhancements, identify (and deploy) opportunities for product growth, and issue management • The manager will need to manage a cross functional team comprised of product line managers, outside Vendors, PDI, IT, engineering, finance, content programming, customer care, legal, etc in the effort to successfully develop and launch a new product. • Collaborate with the GTM, CRM, and Marcom teams to ensure communication to the customer occur on a regular basis • Communicate regularly with customers via store visits, blog discussions, NPS reviews and actions • Be accountable for annual revenue targets for both programs • Analyze business metrics to make appropriate decisions on positioning, support issues; pricing of the product and services; and achieving subscriber and revenue targets • Reporting and Analytics with the ability to identify trends and opportunities • Regular Operation Review Presentations and Status Updates • Conduct market research and competitive analysis Qualifications • 3+ years experience in Marketing/Product Management in wireless or related fields - Demonstrated Consumer product development (minimum 3 years experience) • An understanding of the business customer needs and the competitive marketplace • Thoroughly understands Consumer Electronics, Telecommunications/wireless fundamentals, architecture, drivers, and industry players. In depth knowledge of wireless technology (CDMA, GSM) and services. • Experience with Verizon Wireless’ operations and its systems • Experience with writing marketing requirements - Requirements gathering and writing-technical writing skills required • Strong reporting, analytics, financial and presentation skills • Project management skills of large cross functional teams. PMP is a plus.(Minimum 2 years experience). Strong knowledge of product/project planning and management concepts, methodologies, tools, standards and procedures • Experience with WiFi experience and deployments is a plus • Strong strategic skills to plan a 24-month roadmap for maximum customer growth • Strong project management skills to execute on roadmap, moving a project from inception to completion • Strong written and oral communication skills • Results oriented, strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible • The ability to work on a team and independently • Proven organizational and interpersonal skills, plus proven relationship building abilities • Strong problem solving skills. Must be able to identify and escalate potential issues as well as implement recommended solutions • Ability to create use cases with a focus on delivering a quality customer experience • Ability to manage multiple high-visibility projects • PC and desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office suite of products, e-mail, etc.) • Education: BS required, MBA preferred • Certifications: PMP preferred Equal Employment Opportunity We are an equal opportunity employer m/f/d/v. |
