Overview
Due to rapid growth Cisco is looking for a motivated and competent candidate to fill a new position as Manufacturing Engineer in Global Manufacturing Operations. With dual-location in Oslo and Amsterdam, the EMEA team focuses on a wide range of Cisco communications products.
Manufacturing Operations is responsible for global manufacturing management and execution, including assembly, material planning, logistics, supply base, contract manufacturing management, and factory quality. It’s our job to make and deliver the right product at the right time to the right customer—in the most efficient, quality-driven, and socially responsible way possible.
The Manufacturing Engineer will drive continuous improvements and value engineering initiatives with the Manufacturing partners, including yield and quality improvements, capacity expansion, cycle time and line rate reductions as well as supporting the technical challenges of supply chain improvements.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be part of a highly skilled team in a dynamic and international work environment. We are looking for candidates with initiative, team spirit and enthusiasm.
Relationships
Reports to EMEA lead for Manufacturing Engineering
Strong working relationships with MPa (Manufacturing Partner), Manufacturing Operations, R&D, Quality Engineers and Process Engineers.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for the following functions at the manufacturing site:
Driving defect reduction team with the MPa
Leading improvement initiatives and value engineering programmes
Line stops/quality issues leadership. Debug complex process and product problems.
ECO(Engineering Change Order) and Deviation approvals
Capacity and technical capability review and development
Interacts and works with the MPa to develop excellent manufacturing processes
Factory readiness for NPI (New Product Introduction)
NPI run monitoring and feedback; support FAI and tooling review
Solve DFM issues and provide DFM feedback to NPI groups
Acts as a senior technical contributor.

PERSON PROFILE
Strong program management skills and communication skills to be able to take the lead in getting the right resources to solve problems at the factory
Analytical, challenging and perseverant approach to driving results
Holds a engineering degree in mechanical, electrical or industry engineering
5+ years working experiences in die cast/sheet metal/plastics injection or PCBA manufacturing, preferably specializing in the process engineering, quality engineering or industrial engineering area
Theoretical and practical knowledge of Lean manufacturing/ Six Sigma is a plus
Good English written and spoken communication skills
