This SE will partner with our Account Executives in a pre-sales technical role, showcasing Cisco Data Center product solutions, including Nexus and Unified Computing platforms. Candidates should bring solution knowledge and industry knowledge of the datacenter and server industry. Job Description - Internal/External Systems Engineer with a strong datacenter networking and infrastructure background. This SE will partner with our Account Executives in a pre-sales technical role, showcasing Cisco Data Center product solutions, including Nexus and Unified Computing platforms. Candidates should bring solution knowledge and industry knowledge of the datacenter and server industry. This role is responsible for showcasing Cisco product solutions, leveraging demonstrations, customer presentations, running proof of concepts, etc. This SE will design and configure products to meet specific customer needs. They will gain access to the broad palette of Cisco technologies and applications in a variety of vertical markets. In additional to technological aptitude, and the ability to learn quickly and stay current, the ideal candidate's interpersonal, presentation and troubleshooting skills evoke passion and confidence. Direct account and partner responsibilities for selected accounts in assigned territory. Keep up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and services. Provide technical and sales support for accounts in assigned territory Perform technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects. Assist with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities. Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Team and provides consultative support in their area of specialization to other Systems Engineers. 8+ years of computing industry related experience. Cisco product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings in technology area of emphasis required. Pre-Sales experience required. Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent. CCNP CCDP VCP-4 or similar vender Certification Required. Strong understanding of server and desktop virtualization is highly desirable. Required Skills and Abilities: 1. Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and strong presentation skills. 2. Strong knowledge of datacenter networking, especially Unified Fabric solutions and server infrastructure 3. Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member. 4. Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills. 5. Strong problem solving skills: ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action. Required Knowledge and Experience: 1. Knowledge of the Intel x86 server environments, both stand alone and blade centers. 2. Knowledge and demonstrated operating experience in one of the following area's of specialization: Server operating systems, server virtualization, server storage (NAS, iSCSI, SAN), storage networking, desktop virtualization, and application scaling. 3. Industry knowledge of relevant solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications. 4. Competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings. 5. Understanding and conversant about company, solutions and product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
