The Director of UX is responsible for defining the NMTG UX vision through the leadership and cultivation of Cisco’s NMTG cross-disciplinary User Experience team – including Interaction Designers, Visual Designers, User Researchers, and Web Engineers – and the collaboration and interaction with key product owners within the organization. The Director of UX is responsible for defining and measuring the key UX success metrics for all product engagements and for driving the User Experience team on the actualization of all key metrics. The Director of UX is responsible for managing the overall User Experience team, contributing to the larger UX community in the network management industry, and playing a key role in business development. Responsibilities: • As an executive member of the NMTG leadership team, the UX director is responsible setting design direction for Cisco’s next generation network management applications • Evangelize a clear vision of best-in-class designs to senior executives, customers and analysts • Lead the user experience design and research discipline including building a strong team of design professionals as well as continually improving UX capabilities, tools, processes and best practices • Responsible for all engagements including all UX project deliverables (such as user research reports, concepts, wireframes, prototypes, specifications, front-end code, etc.), project engagement agreements, project timelines and delivery. • Craft UX engagements that exceed customer expectations by partnering with key product stakeholders to understand and support product business goals, advocating user centered design (UCD) industry best practices, and effectively managing UX resources. • Translate business requirements, end user needs and input from cross-functional teams into differentiated design solutions. . • Coach and mentor a strong team of user experience professionals • Ability to present effectively to large audiences and executives Qualifications: • 10+ years experience creating large scale enterprise application interfaces or large scale websites. • Successful track record leading interdisciplinary teams in the deployment of best-of-breed, innovative, and user-accepted software applications. • Creative and strategic thinker able to develop innovative solutions to problems and leading-edge design • Hands-on expertise in information architecture, use case development, storyboarding, mock-ups and highly interactive prototypes, • A strong understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, Javascript, CSS, Flash, Flex) • Proven ability to manage long term, multi-million dollar engagements with multiple project tracks and teams. • Ability to interact effectively with product teams of all levels and backgrounds, from VPs to administrative support staff. • Deep understanding and awareness of product development and experience tying product goals to business goals. • Ability to manage and mentor. • Engaging presentation style and solid writing and visual communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively. • Open to feedback and knows how and when to defend design choices Table.Right {float: Right;text-align: Right;border:0;padding:3px;} DIV.VEclearFloatAfterElement {clear:both;visibility:hidden;height:0px;} Cisco is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer Cisco is an E-Verify employer.
