ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Deliver monthly financial forecasts, the annual budget, and long-range financial plans for CAF expenses.

• Prepare monthly reviews of financial performance to budget, previous year, and previous forecast.

• Partner with CAF Waste Elimination Chair and other business owners to provide waste elimination related analysis, guidance, and/or reporting.

• Prepare and complete Finance Department projects, as assigned.

• Support the Senior Financial Analyst in the production of key management presentations, reports, forecasts, and analyses." />

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst II is a key member of the CarMax Auto Finance (CAF) Finance team.  The Analyst II is responsible for developing, forecasting, and reviewing CAF expenses as well as supporting the Senior Financial Analyst.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling (ability to quickly build and modify robust projection models utilizing Excel)
• Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills, logical, conceptual, an critical thinking skills
• Proven initiative and creative approaches to problem solving with an eagerness to learn.
• Strong interpersonal skills, team player mentality and ability to interact effectively with operational areas.
• Must be able to reason and communicate detailed financial information to management.
• Strong planning and execution skills.
• Use available resources to make decisions using independent and sound judgment.
• Ability to work effectively under minimum supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• BA/BS in Finance or related degree
• 2+ years of relevant finance experience
• Strong understanding of accounting theory
• Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
• Experience with Hyperion or similar budgeting/forecasting software a plus

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
• Use of strong written and verbal communication skills, with various levels in the organization
• Ability to present information to associates and management in a professional manner

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
• Comprehend and execute intermediate math skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is inside a central heat and air-conditioned office building. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
