CarMax, a Fortune 100 “Best Companies to Work For” eight years in a row and the nation’s leading used car retailer, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager at our Corporate Home Office in Richmond, VA.

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) assists in effectively developing & managing positive associate relations and supporting a culture of engagement and ongoing development.  This is accomplished through supporting effective performance management practices, developing and executing training initiatives, effective conflict resolution, management development, recognition/reward programs, and sound employment policies and practices. The HRM is also a business partner in advising managers and supervisors regarding associate relations and HR policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develop, organize and facilitate human resources best practices and programs to meet the strategic business needs of CarMax.

•Provide leadership and support to business managers on policy interpretation and other associate relations matters, including performance management, internal investigations and development needs.

•Analyze Human Resources metrics to assess trends and take action to address patterns. Build and maintain strong, effective partnerships with Sr level management.

•Guide, coach and train managers and associates on a variety of topics. Assist in the development of classes/programs.

•Monitor and review compensation guidelines, exceptions and act as a business partner in assisting/evaluating compensation requests.

•Understand and apply Federal and State laws in conjunction with CarMax polices and procedures.

•Establish and maintain trust by building effective relationships with associates at all levels of the organization. Deliver exceptional customer service to all internal customers." />

•Undergraduate college degree preferred with 7 years work experience in Human Resources, or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 4 years in an HR Generalist role
•Proficient computer skills and moderate skills with Microsoft Office Suite
•HRCI Certification a plus
