In this role, you will work closely with the user experience team and product teams to collect accurate and actionable insights about user needs and behavior. With these findings, you will collaborate with design leads to re-imagine the user experience. In addition, you will lead a team of researchers to ensure a high degree of usability for the products we design and develop. Responsibilities: * Identify and prioritize user research needs; accurately articulate research questions. * Plan, design and execute user studies, applying state of the art methodologies. * Conduct in-depth data analysis and generate insightful and actionable results, including usability measures, personas, scenarios, design recommendations, etc. * Communicate user research findings effectively to various audiences (user experience team, management, development, etc.) * Help staff and provide guidance to a team of user researchers and usability specialists. * Implement a process for user research and usability testing across multiple products and global locations. * Identify user experience requirements; help define user experience vision and strategy. * Work with interaction designers to define user interaction models and workflows. * Work with visual designers to refine an appealing experience consistent with Cisco’s brand. * Facilitate project communication using user data across a multidisciplinary team throughout all phases of the project. Qualifications: * 10+ years of experience gathering user requirements, conducting field studies, performing usability testing, and designing questionnaires/surveys. * Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Sociology, Anthropology, or related field. * Ability to develop research plans and methodologies to answer high-level user experience questions or assess complex design problems. * Experience with both exploratory methods (contextual inquiry, ethnography, interviews) and user interface/design validation research. * Must be able to lead a team of researchers, adapting leadership style to the individual needs and personalities of each team member. * Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, and communication skills, with the ability to quickly prioritize tasks. * Self-starter that is able to work both independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional team. * Must communicate clearly and effectively; strong analytical and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills. * The ideal candidate has successfully completed at least three research projects on complex IT administrative products as a full-time employee. * Familiarity with technical topics relating to network management, system administration, and voice/video communication is a plus.
