Job Description: Cisco Systems is looking for a highly motivated Product Manager to join the Enterprise Backbone Business Unit (EBBU) Product Management organization, home for its flagship Catalyst 6500 product line. This team is responsible for driving the roadmap of the 4th generation of Catalyst 6500 and for defining the strategy and architecture for the next generation converged backbone for the Enterprise.

The Product Manager will be required to use business analysis, forecasting and quantitative techniques to help make key decisions in running a multi-billion dollar business. He/she will also develop product roadmap and GTM strategies to ensure continuity in product offerings. He/she will drive requirements and respond to changing competitive environments, which may include product positioning, feature definition, and overall product strategy. A strong understanding of switching product offerings, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic high-tech environment is crucial. The role is both inbound and outbound, offers tremendous learning opportunity and customer interaction in a rapidly growing space.

Responsibilities:
Product Management
• Perform Business analysis / forecasting / quantitative analysis for a complex multi-billion business to aid critical decision-making
• Develop product roadmap and feature definition for switching technologies to differentiate in a highly competitive market
• Will work closely with customers to understand their requirements
• Will be responsible for creating strategies to target specific target segments, provide competitive analysis and writing Product Requirement Documents (PRD’s)
• Will be responsible for working with a cross functional group within the company that includes other BU/x-BU Product Managers, Technical Marketing, Engineering, and Product Marketing to ensure successful execution of projects and product/solution rollout
• Work closely with engineering to drive program execution
• Synthesize customer insights, quantitative and qualitative data, and business strategy into product concepts and requirements.

Product Marketing
• Track general business indicators and competitor's marketing and sales program activities
• Work with Technical Marketing and Marketing Communications to create field training & customer facing sales collateral
• Own relationship with sales for an assigned region/theatre
• Take ownership of product launch plans and activities, plus execution of launches in conjunction with Marketing

Requirements
• A broad understanding of networking technologies, data center technologies and enterprise management solutions is a plus
• Great analytical problem solving skills and ability to work both independently and in cross functional teams
• Working experience developing PRD’s for large Enterprise products

• Excellent verbal and written communication & negotiation skills
• Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including the field
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
• Demonstrate good judgment in identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, meet deadlines, and succeed under pressure

Education & Experience
• BSEE/CS or Bachelor’s in Finance/Marketing
• Strong background in network technologies and a MBA is a plus
