The NCE will collaborate with operations and practice on solution support process, best practices, development and validation. This NCE will be part of a cross-functional team that focuses on many aspects of a client's systems and operations. The NCE will monitor system performance, perform system analysis and recommend actions to optimize customer systems. The position requires a strong background in software & hardware system architecture, design, documentation and implementation Roles and Responsibilities: • Support the implementation, monitoring, and customization of Video Solutions of our Service Provider customers • Participate in the design and integration of a streaming video network solution. Maintains awareness of existing or potential customer software/hardware/systems situations. • Prepare technical architectural and implementation design documents and works with Product Engineering to develop implementation and support plans. Helps to identify and leverage video and partner resources in order to satisfy the technical needs and objectives of the implementation. • Proactively alerts project Engineering, management and sales team of potential problems and solutions. • Work on mentoring and coaching specific individuals in the AS team and help them develop specific technical skills. • Work with customers on future architectures and network redesigns to fulfill their upcoming needs. • Analyze the network growth and provide recommendations to the customer regarding possible network expansions or network optimizations. • Build collaborative relationships with Account Team internally and various technology and business groups within customers' organizations to collaboratively shape customer’s architecture development or enhancement, based on the existing knowledge with the customer’s network base and customer’s needs. • Drive Day 1 (Plan, Design, Implement) Services proposals for new opportunities, and do the necessary scoping and efforts estimation for Day1 activities. • Network Consulting Engineer will support the SAM and SSM regarding ongoing deliverables for the customer to fulfill Cisco’s commitments towards the Services contract. Expected Travel between 25-50% Required Experience: • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science required. • Experience in IP video delivery and various streaming protocols (Smooth Streaming, HTTP, etc) • 5+ yrs. experience with JBOSS, Apache, IIS, Linux, SQL, XML DRM • 5+ yrs. experience required with demonstrated success in integrating, debugging, testing, deploying, and supporting video and network systems • Experience with Cisco routing and switching products. • Detailed understanding of IP networking required. CCNA minimum.
