WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION? Various duties depending on department Entry level training on office support systems Clerical duties such as filing, data entry and miscellaneous mail handling Special projects as assigned Works under close supervision WHAT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION? Good communication skills, both oral and written General computer knowledge Ability to work in team environment ITEMS OF NOTE Work schedule requires the employee to make commitment to work from the hire date to the end of summer program without excessive requests for time off Position is not eligible for merit increase or Performance Cash ADDITIONAL INFORMATION State Farm Insurance is seeking qualified candidates to fill summer hire positions. The summer hire program is eight weeks long, requiring a full-time commitment from mid to late June-August. Candidates must be entering their senior year of high school or their freshman, sophomore, or junior year of college in the fall of 2012. Candidates must display a high level of potential and possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A current minimum 3.0 GPA (or equivalent) is required. Microsoft Office experience preferred. The Southeastern WA Summer Hire will be working with the AFO team in regards to general marketing, AFO promotions, reporting and agent engagement. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Answering phones, general office organization, filing and interacting with regional agents. The Summer Hire may also be asked to work on running and tracking specific reports and or work on special projects such as: Market area assessments, demographic changes, vacancy rates as well as promotional events. Candidate must have a positive attitude, good customer service skills and be excited to learn new things.
