Medical Adjuster Trainee Location: Maitland, FL Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Salary: $38,000-$40,000 Working as a Medical Adjuster Trainee, you will have an opportunity to use your customer service and investigative skills to successfully manage the injury portion of auto claims. It's a challenging position where every day is different and you work independently to resolve problems, research to understand the extent of injuries and negotiate with providers and attorneys to bring the claims to settlement. We're looking for a qualified person that can assess situations while investigating the details and effectively negotiate and bring injury claims to resolution. Primary Responsibilities: • Identify wage loss expenses and wage exposures on medical claims • Interact daily with customers taking statements and research medical records to understand nature and extent of injury and medical conditions • Plan and conduct coverage investigations • Evaluate medical claims for potential fraud issues, loss control and recovery in accordance with insurance policy contracts, medical bill coding rules and state regulations • Review a variety of claims related mail each day, including claim forms, medical bills, medical records, and attorney correspondence Education and Experience Needed: • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred with experience in a customer service type role. • In lieu of bachelor's degree, 5 years of experience in one of the following types of positions: o Workers compensation o Positions requiring significant amounts of in-person customer interaction o Leadership roles in customer service environment o Retail management o Restaurant management o Military leadership roles Knowledge and Skills Needed: • Previous medical training or employment in a health related field is a plus • Attention to detail • Strong customer service skills • Stable work history • Ability to work in a fast paced environment What Progressive Offers: • Gainshare bonus of up to 16% of salary (Gainshare is a bonus program given to all employees based on company profitability) • Medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits • Ongoing training and opportunities for career advancement • Award winning, supportive environment with Employee Resource Groups • 401(k) with a 6% company match • Tuition reimbursement • Employee discounts • Child care subsidy Progressive is a place where you are celebrated for the person you are, the ideas you bring and the energy you invest.
