Mechanical Associate V - 2nd Shift - CarMax, Hartford, CT Job Details

The Mechanical Associate V works as part of a mechanical reconditioning team in a "straight line" flow system. This team based system requires associates to produce vehicles in a "straight line" flow, with each associate completing a set of standardized activities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing advanced engine performance repairs, electrical systems repairs, manual drive train and axle repairs, brake diagnosis and repair, heating and air conditioning repairs, steering and suspension including 4-wheel alignments. Additional responsibilities may also include: inspection of tires, brakes, batteries, and fluids, oil changes, replacement of air filters, mounting and balancing tires, and identification of frame, rust and flood damage. Must have met the Mechanical Associate I, II, III and IV performance standards. The following ASE Certifications are required: Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7), Electrical (A6), Engine Repair (A1), Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3) , and Engine Performance (A8). In addition, must have Refrigerant Recycling License. Must be able to perform multiple duties in a fast paced environment, provide outstanding customer service, and follow workplace cleanliness and organization standards.
