WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION?

Analyzes the need for and develops state of the art actuarial pricing applications to support the P&C Actuarial DepartmentProvides architectural oversight for the development of new and/or enhanced applications or products; integrates components built by application developers and/or programmers as needed; provides technical advice to others within departmentDesigns, documents, and develops actuarial pricing web/intranet and workstation applicationsServes as a P&C Actuarial liaison with IT department for web, data management and data coordination issues

WHAT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION?

Experience analyzing, designing, developing and maintaining property & casualty actuarial pricing dataAbility to resolve data problems and/or inconsistencies

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This Stat/Model Systems Analyst will serve as a Data Designer/Analyst.

Key Responsibilities will include:
Help gather and document business data requirements
Develop data models
Partner with a Database Administrator to develop a physical database design
Apply data design standards and guidelines
Verify that data models accurately reflect business requirements and data usage
Develop and steward data model meta-data
Develop database objects
Document and facilitate resolution of data-related project issues
Manage data-related project defects
Manage data redundancy appropriately
Promote reuse of data and related processes
Mentor others

Ideal candidate will have the following skills:
Relational data modeling
Data requirements gathering
SQL development and performance tuning
DBMS - Database Management Systems concepts
