The position requires CCIE/ service provider level competency in routing and switching technologies as the primary focus with a minimum of 7 years of design and configuration experience in complex networks. Detailed knowledge and experience with the following protocols is required: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EIGRP, RIP, IS-IS, IPv6, IGRP, HSRP, GLBP, VRRP, QOS, Multicast, and routing redistribution between various protocols. At least one secondary technology is required in any of the following: Wireless, DOCSIS, Video, Security, or Optical networking. As part of the Systems Engineering role, be able to partner with our Account Executives in a pre-sales technical role, showcasing Cisco product solutions, setting up demonstrations, and working with customers on design and configurations based around the latest product and features to meet specific customer needs. The Systems Engineering role also requires the ability to assist our customer senior network engineers that will partner on network planning, designs, recommendations, and tier 3 support as required. Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, stay current on the latest networking technology, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to perform executive level presentations. Provide technical and sales support as required. The Systems Engineering role requires: 1. Ability to work directly with our customers and be on site on a daily basis in the Long Island area in New York. 2. Senior level technical knowledge and consultative skills in routing, switching, networking protocols, and at least one secondary technology. This role requires 7+ years in networking with extensive routing and switching experience. 3. Knowledge of relevant routing and switching network solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications. 4. Competitive knowledge including solution, technology and product offerings 5. Understanding and conversant about Cisco, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. 6. Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills. 7. Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for the team.
