Directs and coordinates all phases of the Centers training and productivity efforts to accomplish individual and collective goals established by the Center Manager; responsible for the attainment of profitable Policy-in-Force growth, loss ratio, service and FIG earnings objectives; gives guidance, leadership, communication, and assistance to Center staff, and to Agents to the end that agency development, property, casualty and life production, including financial products and services, loss ratio administration and enhancement, policy growth, profit and all other goals set by the companies for the Business Development Center are met.



Supervises assigned personnel. (See Supervisory Responsibilities description on Employee Dashboard.)

Administers and controls the training and development of new and existing agents managed by the Center. Responsible for productivity growth objectives established for the Center.

Recruits, selects, trains, and maintains an adequate number of qualified Manager Trainees, commensurate with the center's market potential.

Informs agents about the policies, practices, and procedures of the companies.

Reviews and evaluates the results obtained by agents to recognize outstanding accomplishment and, when necessary, takes prompt action to remedy weaknesses utilizing the resources provided by the Portfolio Underwriting team.

Observes, evaluates, and monitors the progress of the Training Specialists’ agent training; makes analysis of findings with recommendations for changes to Dir Business Development Center.

Assists the companies in identifying deteriorating or unprofitable agencies; makes recommendations to Dir Business Development Center in the development of corrective plans and programs, utilizing the resources of the Portfolio Underwriting function.

Monitors the assignment and transfer of all policies (5xx/7xx/3xx) to ensure conformity with policy assignment rules.

Conduct and monitor all Agency Progress Reviews for all agents assign to them by the Center Manager. Make any recommendation to Manager for changes and systems to improve agent productivity in the Center.



Promotes favorable public image of the Companies, and through that participation identifies prospective Management Trainee candidates.

Works with Dir Business Development Center by utilizing existing training programs to increase productivity and enhance surplus contribution, as well as, develop new educational and training programs at the Center level to promote Agency professionalism; responsible for contributing to the attainment of Company education goals at Agent level.

Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 30 lbs. maximum, and seeing.



Required job duties are normally performed in the field working with the Agents and District Managers or in a climate-controlled office environment



Four-year college degree



Five years experience with FIG, including 3 years with Marketing exposure in a salary grade 34 or above or equivalent District Manager or Agent experience.



Must obtain Property, Casualty, and Life insurance licenses with in 6 months.
Must obtain Series 6, 63, & 26 with in 6 months.
Knowledge or experience with various sales distribution methods, i.e., direct, internet, etc. Written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational and project management skills. Personal Computer Skills (Microsoft Suite, Internet, Lotus Notes, Lotus Databases,).
May be called upon to perform job duties outside of standard business hours.
