Assistant Vice President/Commercial Credit Officer - Worcester

This position analyzes all relevant credit and financial data used to evaluate the creditworthiness of business lending prospects and existing borrowers in order to assist the Business Banking Group in the loan decision-making process. Remains independent of the lending decisions to help ensure the highest loan quality and adherence to loan policies, regulations and legislation; assists the Credit Department Manager in training and development of junior credit staff and in administrative duties and assumes all responsibilities of the department in the manager’s absence. Works with the Business Lending Department to support the quality growth of the loan portfolio. May include management of a loan portfolio by exception.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in bank credit responsibilities.
• Formal credit training a plus.
• Knowledge of “GAAP” (General Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of banking law as it relates to credit analysis and business lending.
• Extensive knowledge of loan documentation.
• Ability to review and interpret credit information and real estate appraisals.
