Responsibilities for the Buyer Assistant - Car Buying Center will include: processing paperwork associated with appraisal lane purchases, maintaining deal jackets, contacting finance companies regarding vehicle payoffs, obtaining proper paperwork and signatures from customers, sending appropriate documentation to the Home Office for funding drafts, and auditing completed paperwork; removal of license plates on appraisal lane purchases; reading and verifying Carfax Vehicle History reports and Appraisal Form information while notifying buyers of any discrepancies; assisting Buyers in maintaining inventory and assisting with customer vehicle transfers; assisting the buying team with projects and office duties (copying, filing, answering phones) as needed; and delivering exceptional customer service by listening, answering customer questions and explaining paperwork process. This part-time, hourly position will be part of the CarMax Purchasing team and will be located at the CarMax Car Buying Center in the local market. The Buyer Assistant - CBC will be provided hands-on and workbook training on the functional areas of Purchasing, Business Office, and Sales, allowing for cross-training and full coverage of the Car Buying Center. Qualified candidates will enjoy a part-time, flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends in a fast-paced environment. Position requires the ability to work indoors/outdoor in inclement weather and occasionally lift objects weighing 15 - 20 lbs. Candidates must demonstrate strong intermediate computer skills, great customer service skills, and successfully read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.
