Senior Manager, Patient Advocacy

Job Description
  • The Senior Manager of Patient Advocacy is responsible for supporting the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Advocacy strategy and execution in the US. Working closely with Senior Director and Associate Director, this role will help execute the company's patient advocacy plan, including tactical implementation. The Advocacy team works closely with the CF advocacy community across the US on issues that are important to the needs of the community.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Working with the Senior Director and Associate Director, partner with CF advocacy groups on issues that are important to the CF community
  • Represent Vertex Patient Advocacy at company sponsored CF/rare disease events
  • Manage MOSAIC database/tracker for CF Patient Advocacy Team, including field SAM team
  • Develop and execute strategy for patient related conferences and events, including development of program ads, attendee lists etc.
  • Support team with the implementation, tracking and issuing of sponsorship agreements
  • Initiate requisitions for SOWs, POs and track progress through our system to completion
  • Manage all aspects of the Patient Advocacy Budget
  • Create presentations & assist with meeting planning for Patient Advocacy Team, including field based SAM team
  • Support team with the development/uploading & tracking of materials to MATRIX database, including development of advocacy materials
  • Work cross functionally with other departments ( ex: Corporate Communications, GAPP) to engage the patient voice at internal and external events
  • Fulfilling other duties/projects as assigned



Travel:
*20-35%, mostly weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Experience building project plans and trackingbudgets
  • Empathetic and passionate individual with the ability to build deep and meaningful connections with stakeholders
  • Understands the pharma/biotech business model, regulatory process, implications in the digital space
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills and an ability to adapt one's approach to a challenge
  • Work cross functionally to support business needs
  • Strong partner and collaborator
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences with varying skill sets and/or levels of seniority
  • Detail-oriented, self-initiating, well-organized and capable of managing multiple projects
  • A desire to work in the corporate culture of a highly innovative company aimed at redefining health, and transforming lives with new medicines

Qualification:


Minimum Qualifications:
*Bachelor's Degree
* 5+ years previous experience in pharmaceutical, biotech
